Thank you for trusting TermiGuard Services and Fenwick with the health and well-being of your home/business. As we work together as a community and nation to better understand and mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, we are all being asked to adhere to new guidelines and to do our best to practice social distancing. We strongly encourage everyone to follow the advice set forth by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our government leaders.

Please know that as an essential business of protectors of public health, food and property, we take our role in safeguarding your quality of life very seriously. Pest control professionals are responsible for protecting against rodents, insects, arachnids and other animals that can damage property and threaten people’s health through the spread of disease and bacteria, in addition to inflicting painful bites and stings. From a structural construction as well as water and mold remediation standpoint, it is also our essential role to protect not only the occupants, but also the soundness and well-being of one of your biggest investments – your home!

As you realize, our critical services extend into people’s homes and businesses, as well as major commercial operations such as healthcare facilities, food processing facilities and more. As an organization, we are taking additional measures to ensure we provide the best level of protection for both our customers and our employees.

As of March 24th, 2020, all internal office staff are working remotely from the safety and comforts of their homes. Our business hours remain the same, M-F from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with all calls being routed to our remote customer service staff. All pest technicians and construction crews are also working on uninterrupted schedules. As in the past, you will still be notified 2-3 days in advance of your pest service visit.

For customers receiving general pest services, we will perform the exterior portion of your service as normal. Should you have an active infestation and need service inside your home, our technician will be prepared with Personal Protection Equipment (booties, gloves, and respirator). We are also asking that you cooperate with the CDC guidelines and practice social distancing with our technicians by staying away at a minimum distance of 6 ft.

Our construction crews have been fortunate to have a majority of exterior work at this time period, as well as opportunities to work in vacant homes and properties. They are driving separately to job sites and are also practicing social distancing around each other. We are equipped with the proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) should future projects require interior servicing of occupied homes.

If you have questions about your current or new project, your routine service, or are experiencing any structural, water, mold or pest issues please call our office number at (856) 753-1401. We will do our best to provide you with the level of service and satisfaction you’ve come to expect from TermiGuard Services and Fenwick.

FAQs

Why do I still need my general pest services?
Since many people are exercising “social distancing,” they are spending more time at home, and providing pest protection is essential for the protection of your family’s health and safety. During this time of year, many insects are emerging and it is important to maintain control of these pests. -Roof Rats spread diseases like salmonellosis through pantry foods contaminated with their droppings. Rats contaminating food or food preparation surfaces can transmit food poisoning. Roof rats become sexually mature between 2-5 months, producing 4-6 litters per year that consist of 6-8 young each. -Norway Rats will gnaw parts of the home to enlarge a potential entryway, and often burrow their way inside by digging. Older buildings with poor construction and maintenance are at a higher risk for rodent problems. Norway rats can be carriers of various diseases that can transfer to humans through rat urine and feces. -Mice can contaminate about 10 times the amount of food they eat, and feed 15-20 times per day. They can squeeze through a hole ¼-inch wide. Mice carry many serious disease pathogens. Most mice species are known for their ability to reproduce very quickly. A single female can produce up to 8 litters per year, with an average of 6 pups per litter. -German cockroaches can lay 40 eggs at a time, which mature in about two months. Because they reproduce rapidly, infestations quickly become sever. German cockroaches are hardy and fast-moving, and have few natural predators inside human habitats. -Flies can carry a wide variety of disease pathogens harmful to humans. Flies pick up bacteria, fungi, and viruses and then spread these pathogens by contaminating food and water. Drain and fruit fly populations will quickly multiply if they go unchecked without treatments applied.
Why do I still need construction services?
During this time of year as temperatures get warmer and spring showers become more frequent, we see a lot of home and property owners needing special attention to all kinds of water and mold mitigation and remediation services. Water and mold have major impacts on the structural integrity of our homes and buildings, not to mention can create unhealthy living conditions for occupants. We will continue with these essential service offerings, working to solve and implement the proper prevention measures to ensure these issues no longer remain a threat to the health and safety of our customers.
What type of pest service are you going to do?

If an interior service is not wanted, we will focus on the exterior of your home which will include performing a comprehensive exterior inspection to identify possible pest entry points, performing a preventative perimeter treatment, eliminating accessible stinging insect nests and removing spiders and cobwebs.

Is it safe for you to be servicing my home?
We continue to monitor and follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure the safety of all our customers and all our employees as it pertains to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Additionally, we continue to follow policies and procedures that we have in place across our business to address issues that may arise in the coming weeks. We plan to complete your exterior service at your home as usual by performing a comprehensive inspection to identify possible pest entry points, performing your perimeter treatment, eliminating accessible stinging insect wasps and removing spiders and cobwebs.
How do I know that you won’t infect me with the virus?
Our No. 1 priority is the safety and protection of our employees and customers. We have implemented policies and practices to address current and new issues that may arise in the coming weeks. We instituted single driver vehicles for all technicians and crew leaders, with other crew members driving separately to the property or job site. We have provided health and hygiene best practices information to all employees including equipment and vehicles. We implemented social distancing measures and have instructed employees to stay at home if they are feeling sick.
Why are you here if everyone is supposed to be exercising “social distancing”?

Many states, including New Jersey, have designated and confirmed that pest control and construction are essential services and we can and should continue to protect the public health of our customers and their property. We plan to continue with our newly implemented precautions and continue servicing as usual. If we greet you at your home, we simply ask your practice social distancing with us!
